Guests of the Sisters of Light Hospice

While their time among the living may not be long, the hospice is pledged to ease their suffering and to make their passing into the next life as pain free as possible.

Guests

Arlen Bearnard
Funny little Scots gentleman afflicted with simply old age. His children tired of caring for him, and he was brought to us at the ripe old age of 96, which, for a human, is pretty old. Arlen was full of stories and tales with which he would regale anyone who would listen. He passed 2 months after coming to us, and he will be missed.

Isolda Schmidt
She lived up to her namesake, Rule of Ice! The woman came to us dying of a consuming disease, and she treated everyone with rudeness and contempt. Isolda will be remembered, but not fondly by any of Rosemerta's staff! She was with the Hospice for less than a month, but left an indellible impression.

Alvar Tibelda
Middle aged elf, brought to us with wounds from a war he'd been fighting. His family could not watch him die, and he was brought to us for care to ease his suffering until the Valar would claim him. He never spoke to anyone, but in his eyes could be seen his thanks for our care. He slipped from this world one afternoon with Sister Seraphina holding his hand.

Jiao Xia
Her name in Common means 'beautiful sunset', but her life will not end in beauty. She was the victim of a brutal spouse, who'd beaten her one too many times. Her head injuries were too severe to recover from, and she remains with us to this day. She cannot speak, nor even acknowledge that we are with her. She cannot eat, and does not move. We can only wait, and give basic care. The Knights were sent to bring the man to justice.

Liluye Awenitia
A very old medicine woman/shaman. Her spirit now soars with the hawks after The Great Spirit claimed her. Her life had been spent healing others, and in our care she found respect among the sisters.

Alexandre Casimiro
Our latin guest arrived as one of the first to the hospice, and has surprised everyone by hanging in there still. In his earlier days, he was very, very tall, with wavy black hair and laughing brown eyes. He has a wonderful sense of humor, enjoys telling stories, and entertaining those around him. He is jovial and a pleasure to work with for the staff, but he does have a mischievous side. When no one is watching him, he is likely to sneak out of the common rooms and into the closets of other patrons, shouting 'boo' to the first person who opens the closet doors!

Snow DeMara
This woman arrived recently, and she is very petite, but with a temper far out of proportion to her size. She never has anything good to say to anyone, and I am not really surprised by her family bringing her here to us to finish her days. She is tolerated by the staff as well as may be, but some days are a trial where upon we all need to seek the White Lady's fortitude!

Holger Heid
Little wizened germanic man brought to us about a month ago. He prefers to remain in his rooms and listen to music, with almost no interaction with anyone be they patients or staff. He is polite and cordial, but aloof. He fought in several battles, and is missing his right leg up to the knee.
